Ensconced in the heart of the Himalayas, the Indian state of Uttarakhand is abode to a number of ancient temples and sacred sites saturated in yore and spirituality. These temples are spread across the Kumaon area and have served as a source of belief and faith for a long time, attracting believers from various parts of the world. However, over the course of time, the magnificence of several of these religious places has been shadowed by disrepair and a dearth of connectivity.
In a favourable turn of events, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has acknowledged the tremendous cultural and spiritual importance of these temples and has ventured on a visionary initiative. Under the Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission, 48 architectural wonders across the state are all set to be restored and rejuvenated, with a special emphasis on 16 notable ones spread across various districts of the Kumaon area.
