The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's tour of Colombia got off to a colourful start last week as they sampled some of the country's culture and soaked up the carnival atmosphere.
Prince Harry and Meghan's first day in Bogotá included a special cultural event highlighting the capital's arts scene, which included theatre and musical performances and a Carnaval de Pasto dance performance in an outdoor plaza.
Meghan, wearing a red print dress by Colombian designer Johanna Ortiz, joined in with the dancing, alongside the country's Vice President Francia Márquez, who was hosting the couple's visit.
The Duke and Duchess enthusiastically applauded the performers and took time to chat to musicians, dancers, actors and crew who were involved with the event at the Delia Zapata Olivella National Arts Centre, where the couple had been greeted by minister of culture Juan David Correa and the centre's director Xiomara Suescún.
CULTURAL CAPITAL
Each artistic showcase was designed to highlight the past, present and future of Colombian culture and to show how the arts centre is working to build a more inclusive creative community within Bogotá and beyond.
