And she didn't disappoint at this year's Venice Film Festival, wearing a dramatic custom-made chiffon asymmetric gown with faux fur stole to promote her forthcoming new movie Maria.
The film, a biopic about legendary opera singer Maria Callas, has already been tipped for Oscar success after receiving an eight-minute standing ovation from guests at the Venice premiere.
The emotional actress was seen wiping away tears at the response and may have been referring to her tumultuous divorce from Brad Pitt when she later spoke about her love of opera.
MUSIC OF THE EMOTIONS
"I think I still love the music I did when I was younger, I would still listen to The Clash," she said. "But I think when you have felt a certain level of despair, of pain, of love, at a certain point there are only certain sounds that can match that feeling and to me the immensity of the feeling encapsulated in the sounds of opera- there is nothing like it."
Also making a glamorous entrance at the film festival was newlywed Amy Jackson. The former Bollywood star who married Gossip Girl actor Ed Westwick in August - wore a -sparkling black strapless gown by Alberta Ferretti, arriving alongside the designer herself.
