Madonna is used to being the star of the show, but it was the fashion spotlight she found herself in last week.
The original Material Girl made a surprise appearance at Dolce & Gabbana’s spring/summer 2025 women’s runway show during Milan Fashion Week, making her own stunning style statement in a headto-toe Chantilly black lace veil over a silk slip dress, fishnet tights and a jewel-encrusted golden crown.
The last to arrive at the packed event, Madonna, 66, was welcomed with a spontaneous standing ovation as she made her way regally to the front row. She was seated near supermodels Naomi Campbell and Eva Herzigova, whose presence was apt given that their 1990s heyday was the same era as Madonna’s Blond Ambition world tour – the inspiration behind this catwalk collection.
The Vogue singer famously stepped out in Jean Paul Gaultier’s conical bustier in 1990, and in the Italian fashion capital 34 years later, she watched as Irina Shayk led a parade of models walking in outfits accented by conical bras and blonde wigs, echoing the style favoured by the collection’s musical muse in her early days.
