Reality star Charlotte Dawson was reported to have been left utterly humiliated when it emerged that her fiancé, former rugby league player Matthew Sarsfield, had been sexting another woman.
The Ex On The Beach and MTV star, who shares sons Noah, three, and one-year-old Jude with Matt, was said to be blindsided by the revelation that he’d sent an explicit message to acquaintance Emily Louise Hodgkinson, 34, who he met through Emily’s ex, a former rugby player.
Releasing a statement on Instagram, Charlotte told fans of her “complete shock” and devastation, and sources close to her confirmed that the couple’s eight-year relationship has been totally rocked by recent events.
It would appear their once seemingly perfect relationship is hanging on by a thread, as a source said Charlotte, 31 – the daughter of late comic Les Dawson – is deeply upset and very much undecided about whether she’ll be able to “forgive and forget”.
The source claimed that Matt has left the family home as Charlotte “needed some space but will still allow him to see the children”. They told us that the star, who got engaged to Matt, 32, in September 2020, is “holding all the cards” right now.
“For anyone who has been through something like this, it’s very hard to decide in the first few days, or weeks, if you’re able to forgive and forget. Charlotte has by no means forgiven him.“
They added, “She is taking her time to process everything and is doing what is best for her two little boys. It’s obvious that Matt would like to go back to how things were, but Charlotte isn’t rushing any decisions.”
