Moving house while her husband is in the jungle has meant a busy few weeks for Georgia Jones.
The model is married to McFly star Danny, who is gracing our screens every night on I’m A Celebrity. And as we sit down with Georgia for an exclusive interview at the Action For Children Secret Santa’s Giving Grotto, she’s clearly bursting with pride for her husband.
“We’re super, super proud of Danny. He’s smashing it, isn’t he?” beams Georgia, 37, who shares six-year-old son Cooper with the star. “Before he went in, I told him just to be himself and not to worry about anything. I said, ‘Just go in there and be you’ and he has.”
Between some gruesome eating challenges and battling creepy crawlies, 38-year-old Danny appears to be nailing the camp’s trials and tribulations. Living alongside stars such as Coleen Rooney, Barry McGuigan and Alan Halsall, Danny’s can-do attitude has kept him a favourite to win the show since the start.
The couple celebrated 10 years of marriage earlier this year – Georgia and Danny tied the knot in 2014 in a stunning North Yorkshire ceremony. And they were together for five years before their big day, so Georgia knows Danny better than anyone. Admitting he isn’t quite as tough as he looks on screen, she says, “Danny was really adamant that he wanted to make Cooper proud and show him that even if you’re frightened, you can still be brave.
“Cooper knows that Danny is scared of a lot of things – he hates creepy crawlies and eating challenges and things like that. I’m the one who does any type of rescuing in the house – if there’s a spider, it’s my job!” laughs Georgia, but she adds that after I’m A Celeb Danny will be taking over that role.
