Celebs Are Redefining Family Structures

We’ve all heard the horror stories: A couple ends their relationship on bad terms, refusing to speak or even be in the same room — leaving their innocent children stuck in the middle for years to come. But recently, we’ve seen a positive shift in the trend, with exes approaching breakups in a more positive and constructive manner — for the sake of their little ones.

A decade ago, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin attempted to lead the charge when they decided to “consciously uncouple,” declaring that they’d “always be a family” and would remain close to co-parent their now-adult kids Apple, 20, and Moses, 18. While many celebrities have failed to follow suit (ahem, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie...), the concept has made a major comeback in Hollywood over the last year.
