Nicole Kidman - Bittersweet HONOUR

In November 2022, the American Film Institute (AFI) Board of Trustees announced that Nicole Kidman would receive the 49th AFI Life Achievement Award, the highest honour for a film career. She is set to be the first Australian actor to receive the accolade and joins a star-studded roster of previous recipients, including Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks and Robert De Niro.

No stranger to award shows, Kidman, 55, is a five-time Academy Award nominee – earning an Oscar for Best Actress for The Hours – and has won a BAFTA Award, six Golden Globes and two Emmys. In 2017, she raised eyebrows with her acceptance speech for her role in Big Little Lies.
