Richard Wilkins always knew that his son Christian was a good listener. What Nine's entertainment editor didn't fully appreciate, until they began working on a podcast together, was how much the 29-year-old had been listening to him.
"I already knew how smart and funny he is," Wilkins tells WHO. "He's got a wit the size of Texas and an intelligence beyond belief. I knew all that but to see it coming into play was something else. I guess I learned that he'd been listening to me more than I thought over the years, soaking up some of this stuff."
Since he was a young boy, Christian has been learning - subconsciously or otherwise - at the elbow of his father, flying around the world to attend star-studded events, meeting celebrities and walking red carpets. As a result, Richard says Christian has grown up "completely unfazed by the celebrity bulls--t”.
"He respects people's talents and their success but he's not overawed because he's come home and found Keith Urban in the kitchen," explains Richard, 69.
