Sam Armytage - 'BREAK-UPS ARE HARD'

Art is imitating life - or perhaps it is the other way around - for Samantha Armytage. Just weeks after it was announced she'd traded her gig hosting Farmer Wants a Wife on Channel 7 to front the Nine Network's upcoming dating series, The Golden Bachelor, the star has confirmed her sad split with husband Richard Lavender.

"Yes, Richard and I have separated," the 48-year-old confirmed to The Daily Telegraph on December 5. "All break-ups are hard, but it's somewhat lessened by the fact it's amicable and we wish the best for each other."

The couple were married for just under four years, after the former Sunrise host tied the knot with the horse breeder on New Year’s Eve 2020 at his home in Bowral. Showing no hint of becoming a bridezilla, their nuptials only took three days to plan between COVID lockdowns and came around 20 months after they were introduced by a mutual friend.

Armytage, who had swapped her life in Sydney for her husband’s 40-hectare property in the Southern Highlands, has now moved back to the city, where she lives in an apartment in the Eastern Suburbs. She was pictured running errands in Surry Hills on December 8 without her ring.
