THE GIRL IN THE TRUNK

For the Daviet family, Fridays were always special. Once 12-year-old Lola finished school and returned to the family apartment in northeast Paris, where she lived with parents Delphine and Johan, and elder brother, Thibault, the family would make a three hour drive north to their ‘family village’ of Fouquereuil for the weekend.

So when Lola failed to arrive home on the Friday afternoon of October 14, her parents were immediately worried. Johan, who is the joint caretaker of the apartment block with Delphine, searched the building’s CCTV footage from the day.
