Luna, Molly's cat, tiptoed inside. She was a soft, fluffy cat with a fluffier tail. She loved playing with dangling things, especially shiny ornaments.
Molly warned Luna not to go near the box of ornaments. Luna looked at the feather ornaments, pawed a ball, and meowed. She was slowly walking away but got caught in the glittery string ribbon.
"Oh no, Luna! This string ribbon goes all around the Christmas tree. Not around you, naughty cat," Molly laughed.
Carl, Molly's brother, laughed at Luna and her confused expression. He excitedly opened the box of the new Christmas tree they got this year. But his smile vanished when he looked at the fat instruction booklet-"How to assemble the tree," he read aloud, making a face.
As they set up the tree, an argument started between Molly and Carl, while Luna looked at their faces with her tail high up.
"Part A is written here on the packet. See, here is the picture. Then we put Part B on top of it, then Part C on top of it, and that's it!" said Molly.
"No, you put C on the base, then put Part B and then A on the top," said Carl, "You are doing it upside down." "Wouldn't it be easier to get a real tree than assembling this fake one?" said Molly, a bit stressed.
"But who will go out in this snow?" asked Carl. Luna purred as if telling them not to fight! Carl looked out of the window - it was all white, with a thick layer of snow everywhere.
"Carl! Molly! Come here, I have a task for you," Mom called them in the kitchen. She gave them gingerbread man cookies to decorate. Molly and Carl loved decorating the cookies with white icing.
While they were decorating the cookies, Mom just looked at the instructions and quickly put together the Christmas tree.
