Need a simple way to finesse your builds and drops? This new plugin from Toolroom Academy could be the answer
Toolroom Academy Infinite £49.99 PC MAC

Toolroom Academy, the soundware and education arm of Toolroom Records, have a pretty impressive catalogue of club-related sample packs, and they are now adding to this with their first plugin. Infinite (VST, VST3, AU, AAX, Audiosuite) is a multieffects plugin conceived by DJ/producer Mark Knight and producer/mixer James F Reynolds. Designed primarily for builds, drops and transitions, the plugin aims to streamline this process, reducing the need to build multiple chains from scratch.

Infinite has eight effects: Delay, Crunch, LFO, Reverb, White Noise, HP/LP filter, Formant and Width. It also has two views, Simple and Complex, which you select in the top left. Simple is the default, providing control of the eight effects via a large macro knob (see Simple Mode). Complex provides an expanded view, showing the eight effects with a fold-out panel for the macro assignments. In Complex view the first four effects in the top half of the interface can be rearranged using drag and drop. The remaining four occupy the bottom half of the interface. The combined low and high-pass filter uses a frequency slider with separate overall resonance (Filter Reso). Meanwhile Formant, Width and White Noise are all single-knob affairs. Indeed each effect is very much of the one-knob design, although you’ll find various additional parameters where required such as the Type option (Bit Crush, Transistor, Tape) for the Crunch effect. Rounding things off are over 40 categorised presets, including risers, downers and various one-shot types.
