Gone are the days of ‘beginner’ printers that welcome new makers with a trial by fire. The Neptune 3 Pro arrives 90% pre-assembled and goes from box to first print in 30 minutes. Everything we liked from the Neptune 3 has been carried over and improved in the Pro edition. The PEIcoated build plate holds on to prints with the right amount of stick, then releases when cold. Bed levelling is a snap, and the Z height was on target without needing adjustment. The removable touchscreen is easy to use, and thumbnails have returned when you use Elegoo’s slicing software. It also adds a few new goodies: a direct drive that really grips slippery filaments, such as TPU, dual Z screws for steady printing, and a built-in task light.
You get tools to build and maintain the printer, side cutters, a plastic scraper, two spare nozzles, and a microSD card with a USB adapter. There’s also a small sample of white PLA to print your first model.
