There is a slightly uncomfortable truth that nobody can be absolutely sure that their webcam and microphone haven’t been compromised. While suggestions that government agencies may be spying on you veer somewhat towards the outlandish, it’s certainly the case that malware exists and can be a problem.
The Mac platform is secure but it’s not perfect, and just because the little green light by the camera is not active doesn’t mean you are 100% safe. In our constantly connected world, cyber theft and spying are issues that we do need to be aware of.
