FROM THE VIBRANT TOWNSHIP OF MAMELODI, PEARL NTSHEHI IS NOT YOUR AVERAGE BEAUTY QUEEN. While her stunning looks catapulted her into the limelight as a Miss South Africa Top 10 finalist in 2022, it's her passion for social change and community empowerment that truly sets her apart.

HEART OF GOLD

From the township herself, Pearl has first-hand experience of the negative expectations many have of children from these areas. However, she held on to the conviction not to conform to those expectations.

"I wanted to be the beacon of hope for young people, especially those who come after me," she says. Now, at 27 years old, she is armed with three law degrees - Bachelor of Commerce in Law, an Honours in Bachelor of Commerce, and an LLB degree.

"I have the heart to serve and aspire to make an impact on the lives of the people I meet (in person or online) - especially young minds from the township. I want them to thrive in uncharted waters."

Currently awaiting admission as an attorney of the High Court, Pearl's commitment to justice extends far beyond the courtroom. As the first female president of the Students' Representative Council at Eduvos (formally known as Pearson Institute), she has long championed the importance of female leadership in driving meaningful discourse and progress.

I have the heart to serve AND ASPIRE TO MAKE AN IMPACT ON THE lives of the people I meet... ESPECIALLY young minds FROM THE TOWNSHIP

It was during her time as a student, travelling to and from campus, that she became more aware of the needs of those around her. "I recall seeing the same people doing the same thing at the same spot. I saw them when I left for school and when I came back," she explains.
