SOPHIE MORGAN'S FIGHT TO FLY NEW MONDAY, 9PM, C4 FACTUAL
When Sophie Morgan posted on social media to vent her frustration after her wheelchair was damaged during a flight, she didn't expect to spark a major movement to reform the airline industry.
In a one-off documentary for C4, the presenter, who is paralysed from the chest down after being involved in a road-traffic collision at the age of 18, shares the story of how she founded the Rights on Flights campaign to advocate for fairer treatment for disabled travellers.
Here, in an exclusive interview, Sophie, 39, tells TV Times why she hopes the programme leads to important conversations...
Rights on Flights has become a fully fledged global campaign that's taken you to 10 Downing Street and the White House. How did it all begin?
In January 2023, I was flying back from America to the UK and my wheelchair was broken by British Airways. I took to social media and the next day I happened to be going on Loose Women [Sophie was a regular panellist on the ITV1 talk show until May 2024], so they let me talk about it on there.
