What to expect as the fourth series of the comedy whodunnit heads to LA

FROM TUESDAY 27 AUGUST, DISNEY+ COMEDY DRAMA (RELEASED WEEKLY)

The intrepid amateur sleuths in Disney+’s Only Murders in the Building have more than proved their worth as crime-solvers over the last three series of the wryly funny mystery drama.

And now, as the star-studded 10-part fourth run begins, Tinseltown comes calling when shrewd artist Mabel Mora (Selena Gomez), anxious actor Charles-Haden Savage (Steve Martin) and flamboyant director Oliver Putnam (Martin Short) hear that the true-crime podcast they have made about their baffling cases is being turned into a Hollywood movie.

But although the trio get the chance to live it up in LA, New York is still on their minds, as the last season ended with yet another murder taking place in their apartment block, The Arconia, when Charles’ pal Sazz Pataki (Glee’s Jane Lynch) was shot. Can they unmask the killer?

A PERSONAL CASE

In the last series, at an after-party for Oliver's Broadway show, Sazz, who was Charles' stunt double on his detective show Brazzos, said she needed to talk to him about something. But before she could spill the beans, she was shot in Charles' apartment by a sniper. The sleuths now have to work out who wanted to murder her or whether Charles was the intended victim...
