THE GOOD SHIP MURDER

FRIDAY, 9PM, CHANNEL 5 DRAMA

In a case of life imitating art, The Good Ship Murder newbie Ross Adams has just returned home from a Caribbean cruise when TV Times catches up with him for an exclusive interview.

'Funnily enough, my husband and I booked it around this time last year,' chuckles the actor. 'If I'd known I'd spend a large part of last summer on a cruise ship filming the show, perhaps I would have picked a different holiday! But it was gorgeous all the same."

Former Hollyoaks star Ross has jumped aboard as new cruise director Colin Smallwood in the sun-soaked Channel 5 crime drama-which sets sail for a second, seven-part outing on Friday 10 January - following the departure of Claire Sweeney's fan-favourite character Beverley Carnell in the Christmas special.

Will Colin be roped in to help former detective turned cabaret singer Jack Grayling (Shayne Ward) and First Officer Kate Woods (Catherine Tyldesley) with their investigations?

Here, Ross, 40, tells us why the role is proving plain sailing....

How did you feel when you found out you had been cast as Colin?
