For as long as she can remember, Vigil star Suranne Jones has been fascinated by the history and idea of witches - and in her new two-part docuseries, she sets out to learn about the devastating impact of witch trials.
'I've always loved literature on folklore, fairy tales, witches and vampires - the more powerful characters, the ones that have dark sides or are misunderstood,' says Suranne. 'When I was younger, I always wanted to play the witch, rather than a princess.'
