CRUSE OF THE KARDASHIANS
YOU South Africa|14 July 2022
Despite all their money and fame, scandals, drama and health woes continue to plague the celebrity family
ROBYN LUCAS
CRUSE OF THE KARDASHIANS
IT WAS all going so well. They’d had the fairytale wedding in Italy, the idyllic honeymoon in the Mediterranean – they were ridiculously in love! After the heartache of the Scott Disick years, everyone agreed Travis Barker was the happily-ever-after Kourtney Kardashian deserved. And then disaster struck.

Travis was recently rushed to hospital in Los Angeles with stomach cramps so crippling he couldn’t walk. “God save me,” he tweeted hours before. Travis was diagnosed with pancreatitis, which is inflammation of the pancreas and can be life-threatening – and in the Blink-182 rocker’s case, it seems it was.

As he lay recovering in hospital, he explained he’d had an endoscopy to remove “a very small polyp right in a very sensitive area”.

“This unfortunately damaged a critical pancreatic drainage tube and resulted in severe life-threatening pancreatitis.”

Travis is expected to make a full recovery but the drama is just the latest in a long, long list of woes to have struck the Kardashian-Jenners and the people who enter their world. It’s even been called the Kardashian curse – and while the family have laughed off the label it’s not hard to see why it keeps raising its head.

Divorce drama, cheating scandals, medical issues . . . there’s a lot to keep up with.

KRIS & ROBERT KARDASHIAN

Kris was 22 when she wed 30-year-old lawyer Robert Kardashian after falling for him the instant she set eyes on him at a racetrack in California.

They settled in glitzy Beverly Hills and Kourtney, Kim, Khloé and Robert Jr came along.
