HER LEGACY LIVES ON
YOU South Africa|1 September 2022
IT’S been 25 years since that unthinkable day when TV news services around the world started blasting the tragic story.
HER LEGACY LIVES ON

Princess Diana, beloved by people the world over, had died in a hospital in Paris after being in a horrific car crash.

For those who loved her it was impossible to believe the vibrant People’s Princess was gone, just a month after celebrating her 36th birthday.

Diana’s presence still looms large in the lives of the family she left behind, and her legacy is as strong as ever for those who loved her.

The world today is, of course, very different to the one she lived in.

Her ex-husband, Prince Charles, married his mistress, Camilla Parker Bowles, who Diana famously called out when she said there were “three of us in this marriage”.

The public has softened considerably towards Camilla (75) and even the queen has given the woman she once refused to be in the same room with her blessing to become queen consort when Charles (73) ascends the throne.

And then there are Diana’s beloved sons, Princes William (40) and Harry (37) – once so close but now barely on speaking terms and living on different continents.

On the 25th anniversary of her death, new documentaries and books are being released to celebrate and pay tribute to her life. It’s just more proof that although she’s gone, Diana lives on.

A DIFFERENT DIANA

She’s recently been brought to life in Spencer, starring Kristen Stewart, and Netflix’s The Crown. Now there’s a new HBO documentary called The Princess.
