retro revival
Puma's Palermo sneaker debuted in the '80s and quickly became a staple for football fans in the Italian coastal city it was named after. Four decades on, it has become one of the streetwear label's most iconic footwear silhouettes. Retaining its sleek silhouette and classic gum sole, the reinterpreted sneaker now comes in brighter colourways. Take the cue from K-pop girl group IVE, who fronts its latest Forever. Palermo. campaign, and pair the retro shoe with jersey-inspired looks, football shorts and pleated skirts.
COSTUME drama
In conjunction with the Apple TV+ series The New Look, Dior is presenting a showcase of the costumes featured in the lavishly produced drama at La Galerie Dior in Paris from now till 13 May 2024. The exhibition takes visitors on a spellbinding journey through Dior's past, as costume designer Karen Serreau and her team used archival sketches, fabric samples and period photographs to recreate Monsieur Dior's pieces. Each creation was carefully conceived, with utmost respect for Christian Dior's vision and his body of work.
THE ART OF Couture
Ever since Jean Paul Gaultier retired from designing his haute couture label three years ago, the Parisian couturier has tapped on guest designers like Sacai's Chitose Abe, Haider Ackermann and Simone Rocha to create collections for the House. This year, he has invited Courrèges' Nicolas Di Felice to be the brand's seventh guest designer. It will be interesting to see how the Belgian fuses his own design codes with those of the French Maison, considering it's his first foray into couture. The Haute Couture fall/winter 2024-2025 collection will hit the runways in June 2024.
