Inspired by the serene and majestic Himalayas, Jessica Jayne’s homegrown beauty brand Pahadi Local has been sparking the conscious beauty movement in the country since its inception in 2016. The soothing song of the hills can be found in their concoctions of creams, oils and cleansing balms. With long-term sustainability goals, Pahadi Local aims to make mindfulness intrinsic. Jessica Jayne speaks to ELLE about the benefits of making the mountains a part of your beauty routine.
ELLE: The Indian beauty industry is cluttered with so many beauty brands. What makes Pahadi Local different?
Jessica Jayne (JJ): What we say and communicate about Pahadi Local is exactly what we are. And what we genuinely are is made in the mountains. We’ve strived hard to preserve the trust and authenticity placed in us by our consumers by staying close to the source. Honouring and staying true to our principles has allowed us to create a unique space for ourselves. In this dynamic industry, I suppose this time-honed integrity of provenance and the product speaks for itself.
ELLE: Your ingredients are specially sourced from the Himalayas. Why did you choose this specific region?
