I fell in love with Ischia in the summer of ninth grade. I went with my family to visit my aunt and it felt like such a big deal, because I’d never been anywhere like it before—a volcanic island set in the Bay of Naples. I’ve been back several times for longer periods, so I feel very connected to it. It’s a place I hold close to my heart.
Embrace the slow rhythm of daily life. A beautiful area to spend time in is Sant’Angelo—a small village in the commune of Serrara Fontana on the island’s southern coast. You get these incredible panoramic views out across the Tyrrhenian Sea. Head to the bus station behind Ischia Porto on Via Baldassarre Cossa and catch one of the regular buses that takes you there in half an hour.
