Ready, reset, GLOW

My quest to tackle those post-breakout scars at Astute Clinic took an unexpected turn for even better. (Hint: Sylfirm X)

Living with acne-prone skin is not the end of the world, but it’s not a walk in the park either. It feels like constantly bracing yourself for the unexpected and never quite sure about how wild things could go. My usually well-behaved, breakout-prone skin was taken back to its teenage woes during the infamous 2020, aka the lockdown and mask era. With the regular facial appointments I relied on to keep my skin in check suddenly becoming out of reach, I was left to navigate the frustration alone, which understandably left my skin with post-breakout marks.

Fast forward to now, after a rollercoaster of trials, my skin is much more under control (hopefully I don’t jinx it) — thanks to having a better understanding of my skin and a right, consistent skincare regime. However, if there’s one thing I can’t fully make peace with, it’s the lingering reminders of the breakout. So, when I had the chance to consult with Dr Jason Yip at Astute Clinic regarding those scars and pigmentations, I jumped at it.
