It was a need for change that prompted the move of a lifetime for Sophie Bell, founder and designer of lifestyle brand Peppa Hart. While many had decided to renovate their homes during the pandemic, Bell had bigger plans.
“It was a spur-of-the-moment decision,” she tells marie claire. “We felt that every weekend was repetitive and we were doing the same stuff all the time. I’m creative and I want to design furniture and clothing so we felt we could move to Bali and be on the ground and start doing a lot of the things we’d been speaking about doing forever.”
Turning the dream into a reality, Bell and her husband Michael put their home at Cabarita Beach, 30 minutes north of Byron Bay, on the market, packed up their lives and moved to the quiet seaside village of Seseh in Bali with their two children – Peppa (now four) and Hendrix (now seven) – and pet dalmatian, Duke.
