SERGIY BARCHUK
An early childhood spent playing in the woods led the Ukrainian-born, US-based Barchuk to form a strong creative relationship with nature. ‘As our climate becomes increasingly less stable and predictable, I hope to echo the interconnectedness and precariousness of the balance between humans and nature in my work. I'm not aiming to make big statements about the planet or how we arrived at this situation, but hope to remind viewers to slow down and investigate surroundings because a struck match or a cracked egg can be a source of beauty and tranquillity.’ Barchuk works across editorial and commercial and has recently collaborated with the likes of Frieze Jacquemus and Balenciaga. @sergiybarchuk
IBRAHIM AZAB
A curiosity about how we perceive and process information is central to Azab’s practice. With unusual methods, he moves between collage, sculpture and performance with the same vivid energy that his pieces radiate, exploring the boundaries of the photograph as an object. After recently publishing his book EV3RY(TH1NG’5)_
MOV1NG: BUT_IM (STILL) H3RE, Azab says he’s ‘working towards a series of modular sculptures that fragment the landscape, allowing observers to reformat space, images and industrial material through their way of thinking.’ DJing and music production are increasingly influencing his manipulation of material and space. @ibby_azab_2.0
