At the time of this installation the C182 was in for its annual inspection at a prominent Aircraft Maintenance Organisation (AMO) at Wonderboom National Airport, therefore it was DART Aeronautical’s Wonderboom team that undertook this installation. In addition to the complete re-furnishment of the original panel the equipment installed consisted of the following:
G3X Touch with Garmin EIS engine monitor:
Recently the G3X Touch flight display received an upgrade expanding its already versatile characteristics with improved engine monitoring capabilities. While the majority of G3X Touch systems are commonly found in aircraft with a single four or six-cylinder engine application, such as Continental and Lycoming engines, the new multi-engine monitoring enhancement for G3X Touch will support two engines with up to six cylinders each.
The bright, high-resolution, large-format LCD displays are easy to read and use, so you have a whole new perspective on situational awareness. The 10.6inch display can be set up for either PFD, MFD or PFD / MFD functionality with an EIS strip. A single 7-inch display can accommodate either PFD and MFD functionality or MFD and EIS windows. Pair up to three of the 10.6 inch or 7-inch portrait format displays or install one now and scale up your panel as your needs change. Access display functions with easy touchscreen inputs, even while wearing gloves or use the concentric knobs if this is more your style. Dedicated buttons on each display’s bezel allow you to quickly enter a direct course to an airport or select from a menu of nearest airports or waypoints.

The grand finale with the Puma Energy Flying Lions T6 Harvards was simply beautiful and I saw several spectators with tears in their eyes as they expressed their happiness for the airshow.
