Brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbages are just a few members of the crucifer family, all of which contain serious nutrients to protect against chronic disease.

Broccoli and broccoli sprouts are full of glucosinolates, the plant compounds that give cruciferous veggies their slightly bitter taste. Our bodies convert the compounds into isothiocyanates (ITCs), which can suppress cancer growth in a number of ways, according to a 2021 systematic review published in Cancers.
