As U.S. celebrates its Independence Day on July 14, your mind immediately focuses on their famous delectable snack: Hamburger. The U.S and burger seem to be interconnected. Though many people have claimed that they invented the hamburger as a sandwich, there is little doubt that the modern hamburger was developed in the United States. Around the middle of the 20th century, it began to spread to other countries and became popular as fast food all over the globe.
Burger, which is ranked topnotch in the fast food segment, has become not only. a delectable trendy snack among the gen Z and millenials but also with the elderly.
In India, fast food comprised mostly of Samosa (in the north) and Idly or Dosa (in the south).
Western fast-food was a novelty in India when McDonald's opened its first outlet in the upscale area of Basant Lok, New Delhi. Three days later saw its second establishment in India. This time in Bandra, Mumbai, in 1996.
But Indians' allergy to consume certain kinds of meat changed their hamburger recipe. Persistent reinventing has, today, made burger the most favoured snack. Burger, today, has gone through serious evolution. From ones loaded with heavy meat and sweet mayo to aloo tiki burger, there has indeed been a revolutionary change!
Rajeev Verman, CEO of Burger King India has gone on record to state that being vegetarian became very important for all burger brands. He disclosed that Burger King, which had been serving primarily beef all across the world, when they came to India, made efforts to position itself as a snack outlet having a predominantly vegetarian menu. He claims that while Burger King has a large meat menu, they have one of the largest vegetarian menus in India's burger space.
