Container plants need good drainage and lots of nutrients

I will soon be time to start thinking of potting up baskets and containers of bedding to create bright displays that last through the summer months.

This is a quick, easy and reliable way of creating long-lasting colour and interest at various height levels around the garden, adding a new dimension to your plot, whatever its size.

The compost you use needs to be free draining and nutritious but not too heavy, especially if you are making hanging baskets.
