Peter's tip for begonias
Amateur Gardening|July 02, 2022
MAY I say how sad to lose Peter Seabrook. I for one continue to miss his gardening experience.
Peter's tip for begonias

I remember him saying Begonia semperflorens were not just for one year and could be kept. I tried this last year. I just put the hanging basket into the plastic greenhouse as I hadn't time to sort them out and left them over winter.

Here is a picture of the begonias that survived well and are doing very nicely now, taken at the end of May. I shall certainly keep them again this year. Shirley Turk, Lincoln

Wendy says Thank you, Shirley. Peter's additional advice was to take a semperflorens begonia used for bedding indoors before the frosts and it will continue to grow and flower right through the winter.
