I struggle to pinpoint when I developed obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), only that it crept up on me in my early 20s. It manifested as excessive handwashing, fear of contamination and an obsession with cleanliness. I'd hit a peak with the disorder by the time I'd reached 30, and I still have horrendous hands from scrubbing them so much during that time.
