Tackling one of the fundamental questions of life

What Is My Duty?

We have been given a brain, a very developed one. The human mind can think to a great extent and can prevent problems which animals cannot. For example, an animal goes in search of food only when it starts feeling hungry; not until then. But human beings can think ahead and prepare some food in advance.

Now this human mind should be used to find out the purpose or goal of life. I am born, now what? Is life only about eating, drinking, sleeping, earning money?

We don't have to live like animals, simply doing whatever comes to our mind, or whatever feels good. This attitude is wrong and selfish. We are different from animals. It is said in the Shastras that every human being must do his or her duty.
