Numismatics is the study of coins, paper money, tokens and medallic art. Its definition is sometimes expanded to include the collection of currency units other than coins.
The American Numismatic Association (ANA) is a non-profit organization founded in 1891, chartered by Congress and located on the campus of the Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado. It was formed to advance the knowledge of numismatics as well as to enhance interest in the hobby. Membership is open to the general public.
The ANA has a rich history of holding its Summer Seminars for over half a century, taught by the best numismatic experts in the world on its college campus. ANA also holds two annual conventions and a plethora of online seminars.
Despite the general decline of attending events in person in all fields, interest in the ANA Summer Seminar continues to broaden.
