A family of seven requires a lot of space; each area of the home has to take into account how it fits into the family’s lifestyle. For this project, the team at Underrated Studio was given the task to create a living space that serves the needs of a married couple and their five children.
For example, the new open kitchen comes with lots of storage space as requested by the lady of the house, and the dining area has been converted into a home office for her husband, with a built-in study table and a TV console. It also doubles as a study where the children can relax, do their schoolwork or enjoy some entertainment.
The homeowners wanted a modern Victorian theme for their abode and chose a colour scheme to match. Their goal was to have a unique and distinctive style for their space, drawn to the allure and elegance that Victorian interior design has to offer. The design team took on this brief and artfully fused the traditional Victorian style with modern touches.
