Pull up a garden chair, breathe in the glorious scents of summer and plan of all the gardening tasks to complete

In your garden THIS MONTH

Over the next few weeks, find time to visit flower shows and gardens that open their doors to the public. These are wonderful venues to unearth creative designs to use in your own garden. Take plenty of photos of anything that inspires you!

If your garden is suffering from the 'June gap' - the period when spring-flowering plants and blossom trees have passed their best but before summer flowering bloomers have reached their peak - treat yourself to some dependable repeat flowering roses or peonies that choose this period of the year to shine. You would be hard pressed to beat David Austin's English shrub roses which are disease resistant, produce blooms in several flushes and are highly scented. Princess Alexandra of Kent is one of the best.
