"AND I GIVE THEE PASTURES GREEN"

LE SENTIER MANUFACTURE JAEGER-LECOULTRE has been crafting movements with complications that display multiple time zones since the 1930s. But in 2022, it pushed its own boundaries — and that of the watchmaking industry’s — even further with the release of the Calibre 948, a truly remarkable movement that combines a world time complication with a flying tourbillon. It was the first such movement among the great Swiss Maisons, and further cemented Jaeger-LeCoultre’s reputation as the the Watchmaker of Watchmakers.

The movement is used primarily in the Master Grande Tradition Calibre 948, which debuted two years ago. Recently, the Maison has unveiled a new interpretation of the Master Grande Calibre 948.

Beauty In The Details

The dial immediately draws the eye with its hues of green and textural artistry. The master artisans of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Métiers Rares atelier masterfully applied techniques of enamelling, guillochage, and lacquerin to craft the dial. As per world-timer tradition, the centre of the dial is dominated by a map of the world as seen from the North Pole. The dial plate is decorated with blue-green translucent lacquer applied over a wavy guilloché pattern, representing the majesty of our oceans.
