Until Jay-Z's braggadocio, I was never intrigued enough to dive into his lore. This connection makes sense. Both emerged from Brooklyn's rough streets and excelled in their fields. More importantly, they elevated historically Black art forms to a wider audience.
It's important to understand Basquiat's incredibly rapid ascent and his impact on the wider world. His rise was meteoric.
