In the Mood for a Move
Expat Living Singapore|November 2024
We showcased FAITH TOWN's home in Newton four years ago, not long after she and the family moved to Singapore from Melbourne. They're now fully settled on the little red dot, with children Farrah and Fletcher attending UWCSEA Dover. They also recently made the move to Pasir Panjang, so we're catching up with Faith again to visit the new abode!
In the Mood for a Move

Tell us about your move and how you like your new home and area.

There were three things I was looking for in a new home for our family: to have more space, pay less rent and be closer to school.

When we were about to check out Pepys Hill condo, my knuckles were white - I hate heights! But my heart was set on finding a home which would give us all more room and Paul thought it was worth a look. When I turned up, I was blown away by the size, location and the "house" feel without the added costs of maintaining a single dwelling. Because the building is architecturally designed to gradually slope down, I don't feel like I am going to fall, so my anxiety around heights is not a problem here. Plus, it's close to school-all boxes ticked!

What have been your best buys lately?

I've always been a lover of quality recycled clothes and furniture. Matt, Jackson, Ben and the team at Hotlotz always have beautiful antiques and secondhand pieces, so that's a favourite for me. Similarly, I often head over to Hock Siong & Co. to rummage in search of a bargain. As the saying goes, one man's trash is another man's treasure - and I've happily found some treasures!

How would you define your home style?
