Rajesh Sheth, a prominent figure in Goa's business community, needs no introduction. Despite being born and raised in Mumbai, Rajesh's roots trace back to Goa, where his family's Kuldaivat (patron goddess) resides. In the early nineties, his family relocated to Goa, making it their Karma Bhumi (land of action). Since then, Rajesh and his family have made significant contributions to the state's economy, education, and employment landscape. This story chronicles Rajesh Sheth's journey and his seamless integration into Goan society.
"My father was in the real estate development business in Mumbai, and we often visited Goa to pay homage to our goddess in the village of Paroda, located in the Quepem Taluka. During one of these visits, someone showed my father a large piece of land in Porvorim. He instantly decided to invest in it," Rajesh recalls, adding that at the time, he had no idea this place would become their home for the rest of their lives. "My father started his real estate business in the early seventies in Mumbai, but when he saw the potential in Goa, he decided to invest in a significant parcel of land. I believe it was the wish of our Kuldaivat that brought us to Goa and made it our home."
Rajesh, with a background in electronics engineering, initially worked for a software development company in Pune before pursuing further studies in the USA. "I applied for a Master's in construction management in the US and soon joined my father in his business," Rajesh shares. After working with his father for almost eight months, he moved to the US to complete his Master's in Civil Engineering. "As soon as I finished my studies in the US, I returned to Goa to join my dad in his construction business. That marked the beginning of my construction and real estate development career in Goa."
