LIFE ON SET IS ACE FOR THE RETIRED TENNIS PRO
Dylan Alcott 'MY DREAM'S COME TRUE!'

Dylan Alcott’s post-tennis dream of becoming an actor is now a reality. The 32-year-old has joined the fourth season of hit Aussie series Bump. He’ll be acting opposite the likes of Claudia Karvan and Angus Sampson. The gig comes on the back of Dylan’s voice acting role in the 2023 animated feature film, Scarygirl.

Retiring from tennis in 2022, after notching up a historic 23 grand slam titles and four Olympic gold medals, Dylan had always wanted to conquer the screen.

“Growing up I never saw anyone on TV that looked like me,” he shared in 2019. “If something came up, I’d love to give it a go.”

New Idea is told Dylan’s long-term girlfriend, sexologist Chantelle Otten, encouraged him to chase his dreams and was absolutely thrilled when he landed his role in Bump.

“They are such a great couple,” says an insider. “They have always supported each other.”

Dylan has already won a Logie Award, taking home Most Popular New Talent in 2019 for presenting The Set. But just like in sport, he is aiming high. He hinted last year he already has “a few little leads” in Hollywood, and wouldn’t say no to an Academy Award!

“Why couldn’t someone in a wheelchair win an Oscar?” he pondered. “I’m not saying I’m going to, but you know, why not?”
