HOW TO GROW strawberries

Growing strawberries is a great way to get the whole family involved in the garden. They are one of the best plants to spark the imagination of your little ones, that is if you don't eat all the fruit first. To avoid disappointment and to ensure a bountiful harvest, you need to follow a few simple steps.

LOCATION IS EVERYTHING

Pick the right spot. Strawberries need at least six hours of direct sunlight a day - the more the better. Make sure you prepare the ground properly too by digging through lots of compost and break the soil up to remove any stones or large clods of earth, so the roots have an easy run to moisture and nutrients. If you are growing them in a pot, buy the best-quality potting mix to fit your budget.

PLANT IT!
