Stop chasing Unrealistic Dreams

Dreams, ambitions, goals, and a sweet picture of big achievements. Everyone has these wonderful visions constantly swirling in their heads and countless people believe that it's possible to somehow, someday achieve everything that they have been dreaming of.

Secondly, motivational/inspirational gurus, articles, videos, and quotes make people think that all they have to do is to have a clear dream of what they want to achieve, relentlessly follow it, and one day they will achieve it.

But is it true? The sad truth is 99.99% of people do not achieve any of their dreams in their lifetime. Does this mean one should not have any dreams because it's futile? No, it's not that. But before I tell you the reasons let me give you an example.

Years ago I noticed a social media post by a girl living in a big city like Delhi/Bombay lamenting about losing her job and finding it difficult to get another one. In her post's comment section, a lot of benevolent folks were offering advice and contact details of companies who were hiring.

But she was still jobless for many months and found it difficult to pay rent and other expenses. I gave her some practical advice to go back to her hometown and settle with her parents who she claimed had a house and a thriving local

Guess what? She got angry at my advice and started a rant that she came to this big town with the ambition of making a great career, buying a big house, and bringing her parents here. She did not want to go back to her parents, her small town, or continue their business. She believed she was qualified enough to achieve what she wanted. When I looked at her previous job profile she was earlier working as a computer operator in a print/photocopy shop in some market area.
