Tips to Lose Weight
Self Improvement International|Self Improvement International - September 2022
Today's generation is fatter and chubbier Toda than our forefathers.
Tips to Lose Weight

This is mainly because of our lifestyle, type of work, and the easy availability of fatty and delicious junk food. When you are young and fat it's relatively easy to manage your day-to-day tasks. But as you grow older it becomes almost impossible to do even basic tasks if you are abnormally fat. Secondly, it causes various health disorders and your heart will have to pump harder to keep you alive. But there is a lot of confusion and misconception when it comes to losing weight. Many think that it is possible to lose weight just by less and working more. While these two are important, there is a lot more to it. There is a whole area of science dedicated to weight loss called physiology and metabolism.

When it comes to losing weight, there are three important things to understand. One, how your body gains weight, Two - how your body loses weight, and Three what role nutrition plays in it. First, we need to understand what is metabolism.

What is Metabolism?

Metabolism is the chemical reaction in our body that changes food into energy. Our bodies need this energy to do everything from moving to thinking to growing. Specific proteins in our body control the chemical reactions of metabolism. Thousands of metabolic reactions happen at the same time to keep our cells healthy and working.

About 70% of the calories that people burn every day go toward merely keeping them alive. This includes activities like breathing, blood circulation, maintaining body temperature, producing new cells, recycling old ones, managing hormone levels, brain functions, sleeping, sitting, etc.

About 20% is used for physical actions, like walking, doing chores, or exercising. You can control these with increased activity. But unless you spend the entire day exercising in a gym, it will never achieve the previous percentage of calorie consumption of simply existing.
