FOLDABLE FUTURE

GOOGLE PIXEL FOLD

Google has now officially entered the foldables market with the Pixel Fold - and the aesthetics of this device don't stray too far from previous Pixel devices, apart from the folding screen part. There's the distinctive raised bar around the rear camera (a triple-lens 48MP + 10.8MP + 10.8MP affair) for example, and the subtle Google logo on the back.

When it comes to the key specs, the Pixel Fold runs on the same Tensor G2 chipset as the Pixel 7 phones, and that's combined with 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of storage. The main display opens out to a size of 7.6 inches, while the cover display measures 5.8 inches, and Google says the battery life will get you through a whole day.

HONOR MAGIC VS

At the time of writing, a UK launch for the Honor Magic Vs has been promised, but we don't yet have a specific date for it, or an official price. What we do know is that this is an impressive foldable phone, with a large 7.9-inch main display, up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage, and a triple-lens 54MP + 50MP + 8MP rear camera around the back.

There's a Snapdragon 8+ Plus Gen 1 processor running everything, so speedy performance is guaranteed, and Honor has done a good job on the design as well: bold cyan and orange colour options are available if you're not keen on black. It's a foldable that proves foldables are here to stay, and it's difficult to find any weaknesses with this smartphone.
