It was in 1932 that Omega first made diving watches commercially available. Called Marine, it featured a patented double case sealed with cork and had a tested water resistance of 135 metres. Now, 92 years later, Singer Reimagined takes a giant leap forward with the new Divetrack, the first mechanical chronograph dive watch that offers the functions of a dive computer, but unlike a dive computer, works even after the dive is completed.
The Divetrack, from Singer Reimagined, made its debut in April this year, and has been the most talked-about release by the brand so far. This diving watch moved things around in a genre where innovation largely comes by way of increased water resistance and material development. In the Divetrack, Singer Reimagined has developed an automatic 24-hour chronograph function, set in the centre of the dial, to address the activity of diving in a holistic way, making it the primary function of the watch, and everyday timekeeping, showcased on the side of the case, the secondary one.
