If you ever thought that a certain colour you love does not suit you, we have the answer to your dilemma. We sat down with Aletté Winckler, owner of SA Image Academy to talk about image consulting and all things colour

Colour Me Crazy

Who is Aletté Winckler?

Firstly, I am a God-girl, wife and mother of four – three busy boys and a beautiful little girl. I am funny (so I’m told), future-focused and a multipassionate entrepreneur. As an author and speaker, I travel often and get to challenge many toxic mindsets (which I am very passionate about). I’ve done many things in my life that I’m proud of, but I would like to think that my kingdom and empire focus will be my only lasting legacy. I pour myself into that.

Tell us more about SA Image Academy?

In 2009, I trained to become an image consultant through SA Image Academy and in 2017 I got the opportunity to buy the company. I changed the focus of the training to include ‘what happens on the inside’ and how it affects how you look on the outside, bringing in the element of personal development. Soon after, I started developing our groundbreaking app Pocket Stylist as we realised it was time to ditch the swatch and switch to digital.

What can a client expect during a consultation?

When a client arrives, we usually start with an informal discussion and a getting-to-know-you session. During this time, we get to identify and work through lies she (the client) might believe about her image. This is often the most profound part of the consultation. After many tears and truths, we do fun things, such as determining the body shape, face shape, style, personality and colouring.

It is invaluable to deal with the inside before dealing with what she needs to wear and put on the outside. Otherwise, in a few months, she may return to who she was before because deep-rooted issues weren’t dealt with. We ensure a lasting result by dealing with the lies she believes about her worth and value.
