Ensure your vehicle is as ready as you are for your long-awaited summer road trip

Hit the ROAD

Oh, summer time! A time for beach days, gathering with loved ones and the allure of embarking on long road trips. But just hopping in and driving is not the best approach, and regardless of whether you’re in a Toyota Tazz or Mercedes-Benz GLE, ensuring your vehicle is in optimal condition is paramount to a safe and successful journey.

We’ve all heard the saying in some context, ‘prevention is better than cure’. When it comes to motor vehicles, you should heed the age-old advice. By taking some time to conduct a series of checks, you can head off on your holiday with heightened confidence and peace of mind.

Visibility on the road is undeniably crucial, especially given the increase in traffic of many people making the most of the sunshine and heading to summer holiday spots. A good starting point is to ensure all bulbs in your vehicle, from the headlights to the indicators, are in working condition. Beyond just the bulbs, the correct adjustment of headlamps is essential. Not only do properly adjusted headlamps enhance your vision, but they also prevent the risk of blinding oncoming motorists. It’s also vital to maintain a regular check on the various instruments in your vehicle to make sure they provide accurate readings. While switches for lights or wipers may seem minor in comparison, their functionality can significantly impact your safety on the road.
